Born and raised in San Francisco, David attended the University of California at Santa Cruz, where he studied photography, film, music and theater, and graduated with honors. He apprenticed with two of the top advertising photographers in San Francisco at the time, Alan Krosnick and Jim Blakely. He then moved to New York City, and, after assisting a variety of photographers there, started his own studio, producing catalog and advertising work for clients including AT&T, IBM, Kodak, Bloomingdales, and the US Postal Service. In the 90’s, married with his first child, he and his family moved to Connecticut.

Now located in Weston, the studio specializes in evocative images of people for commercial, editorial, and private clients.
